A note from Samantha on Adverse Childhood Experiences - ACE's.
Statistically those of lower socio economic status are more likely to experience ACEs and they are more likely to be overweight for a variety of reasons. Remember this when the government is trying to convince you that being fat is a choice and cause of the NHS problems.
There is no research that shows obesity is a cause of disease, only correlation. Considering what I’ve just written it’s easy to see why there is a correlation.
Blaming fat people is much easier than acknowledging that austerity, poverty and so on are actually to blame, and completely ignores that no campaign against obesity has ever worked and has actually been shown to be damaging to mental health. Do the research, don’t judge others or yourself.
A message from Samantha about
Living in a Covid-19 world
Now that we’re living in a Covid-19 world – whether we are in Lockdown, isolation or classed as a key worker, things are changing and change can exacerbate anxiety.
It is completely natural for our anxieties to be increased at this time.....
Anxieties are increased by the fear of the unknown and the fear of not being in control.
- Take it day by day
- Don’t set big goals and challenges
- Maintain interaction with people – talk together about feelings
- Remove negativity, social media is amazing but has drawbacks
- Try not to catastrophize.
We’d love to know if you find her as motivational as we do! Drop your comments below along with other helpful tips you may have yourself!
